Tractor Pull Ticket Winner!
The “Buloke Times” is delighted to announce David Appleby from Invermay as the winner of the Quambatook Tractor Pull Ticket giveaway.
Though David did not exactly have a tractor to show off, judges admired the creativity of his photo entry. He showed off fun for the whole family on his little Husqvarna ride-on mower, his grandson, Phoenix at the wheel and dog Jemma on his lap.
“Sadly, I don’t have a tractor,” David said. “But any time I get to spend with my grandson is a ‘favourite’ time.”
Needless to say, David pulled the heartstrings of the judges with his words... but will it match the pulling power to be witnessed this Saturday at Quambatook? If he is able to bring his grandson Phoenix along, it just might! We will see what happens on Saturday when “Times” reporters catch up with David to see how his night is going.
Congratulations David Appleby, not to discredit your trusty mower, but it will be incredible to show you some mightier machines, heavier horsepower and the all-out thrill and excitement displayed on the track at Quambatook.
Additional Winners
Judges had such a difficult time in choosing the winner of this competition, it has been decided to award two runners-up with a single ticket each.
Congratulations to Sarah Cross (nee Coffey), originally from Birchip, with the tractor named WOTEVA.
This tractor features regularly at Quambatook and is one wild piece of pulling history. Behind the wheel is a mother-and-son duo from Beulah, Victoria, proving that pulling really is a family affair.
Sarah Cross (née Coffey), originally from Birchip– no stranger to horsepower herself, the only difference is she has swapped four legs for four hundred plus horsepower and no doubt, this version goes just a little bit harder! At just 18 years old, Sarah’s son, Brodie Cross has already been handling this beast since he was 16 (which is either impressive, or slightly terrifying)!
Together, they make one seriously entertaining team, and WOTEVA is a tractor you won’t want to take your eyes off when it hits the track.
Donald’s Dale Nunn is the other runner-up with his entry featuring his son Harry behind the wheel of a stationary Little Devil. This is another tractor regularly seen at Quambatook and it is hoped Dale will be able to enjoy all that is on show this Saturday night. See you all there!
