Staying Cool at the Charlton Pool
The very popular Gentle Water Exercise sessions held by the Charlton Neighbourhood House returned for 2026 with a large group of eager participants.
Gentle water exercises improve cardiovascular fitness, strengthen muscles, and enhance flexibility without stressing joints. The buoyancy reduces impact, making it ideal for seniors, rehabilitation, or injury recovery. Water resistance promotes balance and endurance, while the soothing environment lowers stress, aids circulation, and supports overall physical and mental well-being, fostering safe, effective movement.
Instructor Rachael Smyth ensures that everyone feels involved and manages at a level that is comfortable for each individual. A special thanks goes out to Buloke Shire for its continued support of this important activity and the ever-vigilant lifeguards always at the ready.
Kids’ Swim
The Charlton Neighbourhood House was pleased to receive support from the Charlton Campdraft Club to assist with the delivery of swimming lessons for children of various ages. The importance of children learning to be confident in and around water is never underestimated, and these vital lessons go a long way in delivering this message.
Children’s swim lessons build water safety skills, boost confidence, improve co-ordination, and encourage fitness. They also teach lifesaving techniques, reducing drowning risks while fostering a lifelong love and respect for the water.
Thanks also go to Buloke Shire for its continued support of pool-based activities across the district.
