Murray Valley Croquet Association

The Charlton Croquet Club hosted the annual Murray Valley Croquet Association Championships on Saturday, March 7, with players enjoying perfect weather and excellent lawn conditions for a full day of competition.

Matches were played in a best-of-three format across several sections, producing some closely contested games.

In section 2, Charlton’s Anne Kenny claimed victory after a hard-fought match against Lois Munro from Swan Hill, winning two games to one.

Swan Hill’s Darren Barnes took out Section 3 with a strong performance, defeating Charlton’s Naomi Patullo in straight games.

Section 4 provided another tight contest, with Julie Barber from Swan Hill overcoming Charlton’s Margaret Bowen two games to one.

Section 1 will be played later this month. The section winners will now progress to the Victorian Country Regional Championships in Ballarat at the end of March.
Croquet action continues in Charlton with the Golf Croquet Championships scheduled for March 21.
