Donald Town Christmas Party: All the Winners
Donald 2000’s “Spirit of Christmas” whole town party held at the Memorial Park on Sunday, December 14, was a resounding success, with a huge turnout of family and friends to celebrate the festivities of the season.
Most were drawn to the announcement of the local shopping prizes, to the value of $10,000. And the results did not disappoint; in fact, everyone in attendance roared its approval at the top prize winner, The Good Feed, which took home $5,000 worth of local shopping vouchers to continue the amazing work it does within the community.
Other prize winners were: Evan Murray ($2,000), Anne Tatarskyj ($1,000), the Reilly family ($500), Pat Hepworth ($500), Zara Staples ($500), Nicole Nunn ($500). The first prize raffle winner was Kylie Giddings, as well as many winners on the prawn spinning wheel on the day.
Christmas decoration winners were also announced, judged by Jane and Peter Battersby. Best house was named 46 Hammill Street, with honourable mentions to 12 Elizabeth Street, 1 Aitken Ave (noting the Christmas tree), 82 Aitken Ave, 18 Napier Street, and 12 Florence Court.
Best street was decided between Elizabeth, Sedgwin and Napier, with Napier Street gaining the title. Best businesses were decided from the shortlist of the Bakery window, the Post Office trees and the Harvest Café, with the café winning.
Congratulations to the Donald 2000 organisers for hosting their first successful whole town party. It was wonderful to see the community out in full force and support, enjoying the fellowship and fully embracing the Christmas spirit.
More about the gathering will be in Friday’s edition of the “Times”.
