Wheels on A79 Car Club Show and Shine
Wheels on A79, now in its third year of operation, held its second annual Show and Shine on Sunday, September 27, at Charlton Park, with perfect conditions for exhibitors and spectators alike.
Over 200 people came from far and wide to enjoy the event, with exhibitors travelling from Melbourne, Echuca and Swan Hill, as well as from surrounding communities. It was a fantastic day of motoring, memories and good old-fashioned fun.
For Every Enthusiast
The event featured an impressive collection of vehicles, from beautifully restored classics and vintage cars to eye-catching modern vehicles, each with its own unique story. Car enthusiasts and curious visitors enjoyed wandering through the displays, admiring the attention to detail and chatting with individual owners about their pride and joy.
Following feedback from last year’s event, the club expanded the judging categories to cater for an even wider range of vehicles. A total of 22 categories with trophies presented across cars, trucks, tractors and motorcycles.
For many, however, the day was about much more than the vehicles, it was an opportunity to catch up with old friends, meet new people and enjoy a relaxed day together.
The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, with something to interest visitors of all ages. Young car fans enjoyed getting a close look at the vehicles, while long-time enthusiasts appreciated the craftsmanship, history and stories behind them.
The 2026 event was entirely self-funded by Wheels on A79, though the club would welcome the opportunity to speak with local businesses and organisations interested in supporting future events through sponsorship.
A big thank you goes to everyone who entered a vehicle, volunteered their time, assisted with judging, helped organise the event or simply came along to support the day. The club also greatly appreciated the support of those who provided catering, including Charlton College, The Good Meat Company, The Coffee Mafia Van and The Whipped Ice Cream Van.
