“Tuscany” Rom-Com Features at Rex
Looking for a little spice and escapism at present? The Rex is offering the delightful movie “You, Me & Tuscany” which brings a Mediterranean flavour the big screen this weekend.
This delicious romantic comedy is about one little lie, one large Italian villa, and two people getting lost in the sauce of love.
Halle Bailey (The Little Mermaid) stars as Anna, a young woman who has abandoned her dreams of becoming a chef and is now drifting through her twenties with a series of bad choices. When Anna loses her house-sitting job (and housing) in one fell swoop, a chance encounter with Matteo – a handsome Italian who happens to have a villa sitting empty in Tuscany – will inspire her to jet off for Italy, against the advice of her always-honest bestie, Claire (Aziza Scott). But Anna’s plan to crash at Matteo’s villa, without permission, just for one night, falls apart when Matteo’s mother, Gabriella (Isabella Ferrari) shows up at the house unexpectedly. In a panic, Anna allows Gabriella to believe that she is Matteo’s fiancée. That little lie becomes a big problem, though, when Matteo’s cousin, Michael (Regé-Jean Page) shows up, and Anna discovers that the heat between them may ignite a fire that will transform her life.
Directed by Kat Coiro, and also starring Nia Vardalos (My Big Fat Greek Wedding), the sun-drenched vistas of Italy and the warm romance will seduce with its old-world Hollywood charm!

Elvis is in the Building!
Music lovers, the King of Rock is taking over the Rex big screen in the Baz Luhrmann movie “EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert” for two screenings – Wednesday, May 20, 10:30 a.m. and Friday, May 22, 8:00 p.m..
A compilation of old film footage and the release of never-seen-before footage from his 1970 Las Vegas residency, “EPiC” evolved out of the research phase for Luhrmann’s 2022 bio-pic “Elvis”.
Gaining access to vast quantities of film material in the Graceland archives, Luhrmann and his long-time editor Jonathan Redmond, along with technical wizard Peter Jackson spent around two years pulling this material together into a ninety-minute documentary.
The resulting film dazzles with its energy-filled atmosphere, capturing Elvis’s star-studded charisma as the King relates how he got into the music business.
This is a must-see viewing for Elvis lovers everywhere, so don’t miss the opportunity to engage with some classic rock n’ roll!
