The Donald Community Precinct Committee of Management has recently been the beneficiaries of a generous donation from the Donald B.&S. committee.
Sam Goldsmith was on hand recently to present DCPCOM president Adam Campbell with a cheque for $7000 to go towards new aluminium seating to replace the old seating which has reached its lifespan and is in urgent need of replacing.
The Donald B.&S. has been run on the first weekend in April for the past two years and has been a huge success, drawing well over 1000 people on both occasions.
This has given the local community a massive financial boost as the revellers converge on the local towns for the weekend of fun.
The success of the event has also resulted in the B&S committee being able to look at distributing the profits to local projects within the community.
“The B.&S. is well supported by local volunteers who enable the event to run smoothly and at a profit, so in return, it is great to be able to support these community projects” Sam said.

The DCP is the most used recreation facility within the Shire with many groups using the facility so it’s great to be able to support them. We hope to continue this support and look forward to making some more announcements in the near future.”
New Seats
From the funds, the DCPCOM has been able to purchase 14 new aluminium bench seats to replace the ageing wooden seats around the main oval boundary.
With the recent upgrade to the DCP there has already been replacement and additional seating installed so the new seating will go a long way to finishing the viewing area. Adam was thrilled to accept the donation.
“The DCP has undertaken a large upgrade which has used the majority of our capital funds,” he said.
“This donation is a great shot in the arm and enabled us to complete some much-needed works. Our user groups will now be able to work together to install the new seating.”
Planning for the 2025 B.&S. is well under way with a bigger and better event planned. Keep an eye out for details and ticket sales, and check out the website donaldbns.com.au or sign up for the newsletter to stay informed.
