Among all the animals Pam and Peter Rollinson might have expected to find back on the farm after a recent visit to Bali, a wombat was a very long way down the list.

But there it was, in the garden of their home, “Glengar”, close to the high bank of the Richardson River, north of Donald.

Before this photograph was taken by the “Times” on Wednesday, a very parched wombat had had its thirst assuaged when Peter turned on the garden hose.

As for its future – in recent days, the Rollinsons have been in touch with both Wildlife Vic. and Wildlife Rescue. And there’s always the wildlife zoo at Halls Gap.

Incidentally, there is a song bearing the title, “Wombat Stew”, but we won’t be going into the details of that one.
