The perfect movie to open school holidays is the delightful “Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway” (G 93 mins) screening at the Rex this weekend.
A follow-on from the highly successful 2018 original (based loosely on the Beatrice Potter character of the same name), the 2021 version sees the lovable rogue back in the action.
And despite his best efforts, Peter can’t seem to shake his mischievous reputation. Adventuring out of the garden, he finds himself in a world where his mischief is appreciated, but when his family risks everything to come looking for him, Peter must figure out what kind of bunny he wants to be.
There’s plenty of laughs for all age groups, as the movie combines live-action humans and CGI bunnies with the characters strutting their stuff in a story which emphasizes living up to reputations.
Highly recommended by a wide demographic of viewers, this is an outing which all the family can enjoy.
“Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway” (G 93 mins) screens: Saturday, June 26, 8 p.m. | Sunday June 27 | Tuesday, June 29, 8 p.m..
