Grab Some Grub at Grumpets

After 20 years in nursing, Gwen Mitchener has returned to hospitality, opening her Grumpets food van outside Donald Auto Electrical at 20 Racecourse Road.

From big breakfast burritos to butter chicken, Gwen offers a changing menu of freshly prepared meals, with a focus on quality and minimising food waste.
The van has been operating for several weeks and is continuing to build its customer base, with locals able to call Gwen ahead on 0413 308 110 to place an order.

Gwen’s husband, David “Agro” Elsom, owns Donald Auto Electrical, with the couple living in St Arnaud.

Gwen regularly changes the menu to offer a variety of cuisines, with Mexican food among her favourites to prepare.

With harvest approaching, she has also been preparing meals that farmers can heat up in food warmers, offering a convenient option for those spending long hours in the paddock.

Grumpets is open Monday to Friday from around 7.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and offers a convenient alternative takeaway food option to many who work along the “Mad Mile” at industrial businesses.
