Set within contemporary London, this weekend’s Rex movie, “Fuze” is of the crime, thriller, heist genre and ramps the pace up from the get-go.

The plot unfolds as construction workers unearth an unexploded World War II bomb at a busy site in central London. Authorities scramble to contain the threat as a mass evacuation ensues with the ticking clock meaning time is of the essence. As the chaos unfolds, the military and criminals become entangled, building the crisis into something much more complex.

Actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays “Major Will Tranter”, the army officer heading the complex operation of detonating the bomb. Supported by Gugu Mbatha-Raw as “Chief Superintendent Zuzana”, (the MET police counterpart), the criminals – diamond expert “Karalis” (Theo James), and his mates played by Sam Worthington and Nabil Elouahabi – are using the chaos to rob a local bank while the crisis unfolds.

Directed by David MacKenzie, the movie is gripping, with plenty of twists, turns, and surprises. The pace is fast and slick, and as the tension builds, no one knows who can be trusted.

“Fuze” is a stylish, British-made movie – action-packed and guaranteed to have you on the edge of your seat!
