Donald Golf Division 1 and 2 bowlers played host to Boort and were successful in both Divisions of weekend Pennant.

In Division 1, Golf scored 81 shots to 54, picking up 11 points to 1. Geoff Rigby’s team was pitted against Shayne Morris’s charges and established a handy lead early in the game, powering home to win 27-13. Peter Hibberd’s team led 10-0 after three ends against Kevin DePiazza’s team and cruised to a comfortable 30 shots to 17 win. Daniel Pettifer’s team played well to lead Kel Ritchie’s team 24-17 after 21 ends, however Boort won the last four ends of the match to finish the game level at 24 shots each. Boort was actually holding game, but Daniel Pettifer took out Boort’s second shot to snatch the draw with the last bowl of the match.
Golf’s Division 2 teams won two of the three rinks to win 71 shots to 65, picking up 10 points to 2.

George Wood’s team defeated Tony Matley’s lot 23 shots to 20 in a hard-fought contest. Unfortunately for Shane O’Shea’s team, the Joan Earl-skippered rink won 16 ends to win 27-11. The hero for Golf was Lindsay Borden’s team, which defeated Greg Smith’s team 37 shots to 18, including five shots on the last end to give Golf a win overall.

Well done to Donald Golf Pennant bowlers.
