With both teams having started the season well, a close game was expected for the reserves grand final rematch at Sea Lake.
The first quarter was non-stop action with both teams playing attacking football and endeavouring to hurt the opposition on the scoreboard. Nullawil with Oberdorfer again prominent was able to finish the quarter with a slight lead.
Sea Lake-Nandaly 2.0.12 to Nullawil 3.3.21.
The second quarter continued the same, although Nullawil was starting to gain the upper hand, with Dude Kelly and Jayden Coghlan giving a lot of drive through the midfield and Angus Forrester playing well. At the main break it was 3.0.18 to 6.3.39.
The third quarter was a contested quarter of football with both backlines holding the upper hand. Jeremy Vearing played with his usual determination and Tom Fawcett was showing his skills. Nullawil again won the quarter, kicking 1.4 to Tigers 3 points. At the three-quarter break it was 3.3.21 to 7.7.49.
The Tigers needed to start the last quarter well to have any chance of catching Nully on the scoreboard. This wasn’t to be, and with Nullawil’s team play improving as the game progressed, it went on to have a comfortable victory.

Under-17s
This week the Nullawil under-17s came up against a well-drilled Sea Lake outfit. The boys put up a gallant effort against a bigger side, but fell 31 points short of the win.
Les Cooper fought hard all day, rarely being beaten at half back and intercepting everything that came his way. Max Fawcett and Tynan Perry provided the side with plenty of run and carry through the middle, creating many inside 50 entries. Jules Muir played a solid game in the ruck while Brody Kelly and Will Gilchrist demonstrated their versatility as they continued to find the ball at either end of the ground.
Although the boys didn’t come away with the win, there were plenty of positives to take away from the game. Hold your heads-up high fellas; there’s some good things to come!
